Traudel’s Loquat and Apricot chutney

Loquat and Apricot Chutneyend of year 1rst jan15 106

You will need..

650gr Loquats

5 small Apples

300gr dried Apricots

8o gr Ginger

2 tbl spoons black Mustard seeds

2 tbl spoons yellow Mustard seeds

500gr brown organic sugar

720ml cider vinegar

2 tsp sea salt

2tsp crushed chillies

Method

Clean loquats remove seeds and membrane cut up in small pieces

Peel, deseed and cube apples

Peel and cut ginger in fine pieces

Crush some of the mustard seeds to release the flavour

Put all ingredients into a large pot and bring to boil

Turn down heat and simmer for about 1 ½ hour or until the apples are cooked to pulp.

Fill into sterilised, hot jars, will last for up to 9 month

Refrigerate after opening.
