We attend during avocado season October – December each year. We are a small farm and grow avocados, capers and also grow grapes and make wine. We also have a commercial market garden on our farm. Our share farmer is Jema McCabe. She attends the market from December to April with her quality produce which includes carrots, beetroot, onions, lettuce, zucchini, cucumber, tomatoes and also many heirloom and unique vegetables. The entire farm and produce is certified biodynamic with Demeter.

The only certified biodynamic capers in Margaret River. The capers are the unopened flower bud. Handpicked weekly throughout summer, sorted and packed in sea salt. The taste is unique, delicious and almost buttery. Very different from imported capers in vinegar.

The only Certified Biodynamic Hass avocados in Margaret River. Burnside avocados are large and creamy tasting. The best avocado you will ever taste. They thrive with heavy mulching, compost and lots of water. Geese keep down the grass around the trees. Handpicked from October to December, they are then sorted and sized. Did you know an Avocado only ripens once picked? Hass avocados turn black as they ripen. Supermarket avocados are sprayed with ethylene to fasten ripening and turn the skin black. We suggest you buy avocados weekly and ripen them yourself for a quality avocado. Generally, it takes up to a week to ripen an avocado. We mainly sell unripe/green avocados for this reason. For ripe avocados please order in advance.

Burnside Organic Farm Wine
The biodynamically certified vineyard was planted in 2001. The unirrigated vines are close planted on lyre trellis in red gravelly loam soils. The grapes are picked at perfect ripeness allowing Lara & Jamie to make quality wine onsite in their winery. The grapes are basket pressed, wild fermented and minimal sulphur is added at bottling. The vineyard and winery are both certified biodynamic with Demeter. This is your guarantee that the wine is biodynamic from vineyard to your glass.
Vermentino is a dry white wine that tastes of apple, pear, lemon and a little bit of saltiness. A perfect wine for food and especially Italian food and seafood.
